With a new afterword by Herbert Gold. Quarto. xvi, 194, [4] pp. English leather and German linen-covered boards, with hand-marbled endpapers. With an extra suite of eight woodblock prints, printed on handmade English Tovil paper, each colored and signed by the artist and housed in a German linen-lined folding chemise. One of 25 "Collectors Edition" copies (of an edition of 220) Signed by Prochnow and Gold. The book and suite of prints are fine, all housed in a fine custom California black oak lidded box. Published as part of the series "California Writers of the Land." With a letter from the publishers to the recipient laid in, describing the publication and Signed (in one hand) by Carolyn and James Robertson. A beautiful fine press edition of Saroyan's first book, with an additional suite of Signed prints.
