Boston: Little, Brown & Company, 1947. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good+/Good. Inscribed by Boyer to Andy Oncla! Stated first edition, 1947, hardcover with blue cloth boards in dust jacket, octavo, 306pp., not illustrated. Book VG+ with mild sun to spine and edges of boards, binding tight, hint of foxing to endpapers, otherwise text clean and unmarked. DJ good with edgewear that includes some small tears and their related creases, age-toning and rubbing, in protective mylar wrap. Oncla was a Communist party organizer for steelworkers in Western Pennsylvania in the 1940s and '50s. Inscription reads: "To Andy Oncla, one of the best men and best Communists I know with admiration and affection, Dick Boyer"
