Hardcover. 8vo, 2 vols, xvi, 547pp (&) xvi, 540pp, each with engraved portrait frontispiece and numerous ills., 3 folding maps in back pockets. Original green decorative gilt cloth with impressed map of Africa stamped on upper boards. Cloth rubbed, giving it a faintly whitish appearance, worn at head and tail of spines, head of spine on Vol. I with a half inch split. Interior clean, a gift inscription top of Title page Vol. I, first signature loose. A good+ copy overall.
