BINDING/CONDITION: red cloth; one short ink note on the rear endpaper, otherwise a Very Good book, with a Very Good dust jacket; publisher's price on the jacket flap is intact. This was originally published in 1979 as The Chasm of Fire. This edition is complete and unabridged. Mrs. Tweedie was the first Western woman to be trained in the ancient yogic lineage. She was born in Russia in 1907 and educated in Vienna and Paris. After her husband died in 1954 she began a spiritual quest. With a background in Theosophy, she traveled to India where she met a Sufi Master. After his death in 1966, she returned to England where she offered daily teaching, and also went on lecture tours. Mrss Tweedie's Sufi master requested that she keep a complete diary of her spiritual training, and predicted that one day it would become a book and benefit people around the world. This diary spans five years, with the story unfolding one day at a time. 8vo (about 9.25 inches tall) 822 pages.
