About This Item

London: Printed for Subscribers Only, 1872. No. 42 of only 100 copies printed, signed by the publisher, E. W. Ashbee. Document from 1644 reprinted in 1872 on a limited basis by Ashbee, who published a series of these facsimiles during the late 19th century. Softcover, engraved title plus six pages of text. Also includes a facimile letter - which seems to be unrelated - to Lord Cromwell in 1653. We left the two items together since it seemed to have made sense to the previous owner. Covers chipped, front cover effectively detached despite an old attempt to reglue as evidenced by glue spotting along the spine edge, contents intact and age-toned with a few very light pencil notes by the previous owner (a professor of medieval studies) and whose name is blind stamped at the upper corner of the front cover. A scarce item.. Signed by the Publisher. Limited Edition. Soft Cover. Fair. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
