A clean, unmarked and well-bound set. Pages have light dust-soiling along top edge but are otherwise near fine. Green cloth hardcovers are clean, gilt stamping front and spine bright, edges only slightly rubbed. The fragile jackets have survived. They are simple in design with green printing front and spine on light brown paper. Jackets are clean but there are closed tears, a few small holes, some creases and chipping. Vol. 1 has only a few small chips, Vol.2 has two large (1") chips. Bindings are sturdy, hinges intact, boards and spine straight. Several B/W photo illustrations. A fascinating chronicle of an amazing life, packed with travel and adventure. Jordan was a naturalist, concentrating in ichthyology (the study of fish), an educator and a peace activist.
