About This Item
London: John Murray, 1906. Hardcover. Very good. The author was the professor of Geology at the University of Glasgow. This was an important inland expedition and it is noted for its paleontological discoveries, most especially bones of the Diprotodon. Gregory had heard an account of great bones from the Diesi tribe and discovered some while investigating the legend. Includes numerous references to the aborigines. 8vo, (xvi) 384pp, frontis & 15 plts, 7 maps (most folding), ills in text. Handsome brown cloth rebind, very sympathetically done, imitating the original, and with the original heart shaped illustration inlaid on cover, vg+ condition.
