About This Item

Old Hemlock, 1984. Limited. Hardcover. Very Good +. Old Hemlock, 1984. "This is Number 222 of the first five hundred seventy-five copies." Inscribed on half title page by George Evans to owner of #222, "For J.....Like one of his days at evening, beautiful for the fullness of the day. George Bird Evans, Old Hemlock, October 1884." Illustrated with black and white photos of Nash and of Buckingham. Blue cloth with George Bird Evans name in very bright gilt on front board, title in gilt on spine edge. Attached pink ribbon bookmark. Spine edge has faded some but gilt still has some shine and lettering is very clear. No wear to book. A tiny bit of dust soiling to top page edges and just a hint of foxing to top and front page edges. Binding of book is very tight. Interior of book except for inscription is unmarked and clean throughout. Light green slipcase has faded and also has some browning along top and front edges. Lower front corner has been lightly bumped, but this bump did not affect corner of book itself. Limited. Hard Cover. Very Good +/Good +.

About Black River Books

Black River Books is a hobby that grew into a passion, then an internet business, and finally into a business with an actual store front. Having the store has caused us to minimize our online presence. We are located at 330 Kalamazoo St. Suite 2, in South Haven, MI 49090. Order online, should you find a treasure in our small collection, check out our website, or stop in and see our in-store collection of over 40,000 books in beautiful South Haven, on the Black River and the shores of Lake Michigan.
