SIGNED 29th PRINTING. 1 vol., signed by Cather on the title-page, bound in the original green cloth, original printed paper spine and cover labels present, spine slightly sunned, inner and outer hinges fine, head and foot of spine fine. There was a limited signed first trade edition issued in 175 copies which shows up quite often for about this price but regular trade editions signed seldom turn up. We have priced this copy for less than half what a signed first would cost you.
Synopsis
Death Comes for the Archbishop is a 1927 novel by Willa Cather. It concerns the attempts of a Catholic bishop and a priest to establish a diocese in New Mexico Territory. The novel was included on Time Magazine's 100 Best English-language Novels from 1923 to 2005 as well as the Modern Library's list of the 100 Best Novels.
