Debs (1855-1926), prominent American labor leader and Socialist, had been convicted under the Sedition Act of 1918 for his opposition to American pariticpation in World War One and was serving a 10-year term when this biography was published. President Harding commuted his sentence in 1921 but he died in 1926 of health problems that began during his time in prison. In Very Good- Condition: cover is lightly rubbed and soiled; 1-cm. tear at head of spine; pages are lightly browning but clean and tight.
