Steinbach, Manitoba: Selbstverlag des Verfassers, n.d., ca. 1940s. First Edition. 12mo (ca. 18cm.); publisher's tan pictorial card wrappers; 94pp.; illus., text printed in blackletter. Minor wear to wrapper extremities, textblock rather toned and brittle due to inferior paper stock, else Very Good and sound. Text entirely in the Plautdietsch dialect. Short novella by the Russian-born Mennonite author who emigrated from present-day Ukraine to Manitoba in the 1920s, working as a newspaperman and author of numerous short novels, the first examples of published works in the Mennonite Plautdietsch dialect.
