Tight, square, internally clean book in unclipped dust jacket with original price of $4.95. Somewhat dustsoiled textblock edges, edgewear and a few nicks to dust jacket, 1-inch tear to front panel. Small sticker scrape on spine of dj and sticker remnant on front endpaper. Nonetheless a very attractive book. Historical fiction set in 13th century southern France. In this book "we re-encounter Wolf of Foix, the searching young idealist haunted by one obsession -- to avenge his patron -- an obsession that takes him from brutal warfare to the quiet endurance of the Cathar believers; from the frivolity of the effete to alchemists' dens in Spain and pagan rituals in the caverns of the Pyrenees.". In 1211 de Montfort attacked Toulouse --and ultimately at a moment of dubious triumph- de Montfort is accidentally killed. .
