ISBN-13: 9781584771401; ISBN-10: 1584771402. Hardcover. New. $125. * Reprint of the final authorial edition published in Philadelphia during Adams' [1735-1826] presidency. His review and analysis of various constitutions and models of republics played an important role in the development of American political theory. He calls for a doctrine of the separation of powers, a system of checks and balances, and a legislature of two houses. The work's timely publication and thesis influenced the delegates to the Constitutional Convention of 1787. Written and originally published in London in 1787 while Adams was serving at the Court of King James. With a list of subscribers that includes senators, congressmen and other distinguished statesmen.

Shipping Charges: Will be applied to all orders. Domestic orders will be shipped via either Federal Express Ground Service or United Parcel Service, unless we receive other instructions. All overseas orders will be shipped via Federal Express, or USPS Air Service. All books are packed with requisite care.

Warranty & Returns: Any item may be returned within fourteen (14) days of receipt for any reason; prior notification is necessary and returned items must be carefully packed and arrive safely.

Founded in 1983, The Lawbook Exchange, Ltd. is devoted to all aspects of law and its history. It has two main components. The Antiquarian Book Department offers a wide range of Continental, British, and American books, manuscripts, and ephemera from the medieval era through the twentieth century.
