Rome: Edizioni Tiber,, 1929. Very Good. 4to, dark red cloth, lettering and device in white on black. Spine neatly rebacked, new endpapers; corners bumped. Text somewhat tanned due to quality of paper. Bragaglia's theory of stage design with 212 pages, profusely illustrated in black and white. Italian set designer, theater and film director and photographer, a key person in Italian futurist theater.Opened a theater in the ancient Roman baths of Septimus Severus with rooms decorated by Balla, Depero and Prampolini; called the Teatro degli Indipendenti, it showed the work of Jarry, Pirandello et al. Hulten, Futurism and Futurisms, pp. 435-436. Plays discussed and illustrated in the book include Jarry's Ubu Roi and Pirandello's L'uomo dal fiore in bocca and All'uscita, and scenic designs by Fornari, Lonanesi, Marana and others. Documentary photographs, mostly by Bragaglia, are not illustrated elsewhere. He was an exponent of uturist photography with the concept of "photodynamism".. Cloth. Very Good.. 4to.

Publisher's maroon cloth with two inset printed paper labels on the front board. Darkening at the board edges, light scattered staining to the endleaves, front endleaves and front and rear hinges repaired, good or better. Warmly Inscribed by the author on the title page to Hallie Flanagan, with Flanagan's Signature and engraved bookplate on the front pastedown, and with the Italian Authors and Publishers Association embossed stamp: "Societa Italiana degli Autori ed Editori, Roma" on the title page. Hallie Flanagan is best known for her 1931 play *Can You Hear Their Voices?*, and as the Director of the Federal Theatre Project (FTP) under the Works Progress Administration (WPA).
