Farley, "Women's Work Recognized", lists of DNC members, and more. Oversized, softcovers, ~10" x 13". Pictorial front cover of the Capitol Building, seal of "The Democratic Party" with illustrations of Jefferson and Roosevelt in lower right corner, back cover is full-page ad for Schenley whiskies. Contains many full-page color advertisements as well as in black and white, photos of Democratic party leaders with glassine protectors. Condition: Minor rubbing to corners of covers as well as edges of spine, head of front fore-corner has ¼" crease. Text, advertisements, photos, and glassine protectors are in very good+ condition, especially considering age, size, and soft covers.

[Philadelphia?]: (Democratic National Committee?), 1937. First Edition. Softcover. Folio. 384 pages. Very Good-. Pictorial paper covers with some rubs, moderate creases, and other edge wear. Closed tears to cover near head and heel of spine. Interior clean and sound. Still a handsome and sturdy copy.. Color and b&w illustrations, ads.. A souvenir book recapping President Roosevelt's victory and Democrat gains in the 1936 national election. Contains campaign speeches, profiles of candidates and cabinet members, records of accomplishment for departments in Roosevelt's first term, and much more. The printing herein of Roosevelt's address to the New York Democratic State Convention at Syracuse on September 29, 1936 is likely its first publication in permanent form, according to FDR bibliographer Ernest J. Halter. Copies of this book (not to be confused with the very similar souvenir titled "The Democratic National Convention 1936") were rebound in leather to produce a limited edition that was signed by President Roosevelt and presented to donors and other friends (see HALTER T119).

The White House, 1936. Hardcover. Near Fine. Limited Edition . This copy is number 155 of 2500 . Full Leather . This was the campaign book for 1936 . The White House had these books rebound in handsome leather and sold them to help pay the debts of the campaign . President Roosevelt SIGNED each copy on the limitation page under a pastel image of the White House . The name of the donor was printed in gold gilt on the front cover . In this case the buyer was John W. Childress , the Director Of Public Works for the District of Columbia Childress was a close associate of Senator Claude Swanson , now a member of Roosevelt's cabinet . In this copy the original , dynamic and colorful stiff wraps were preserved and bound-in .
