(In Venetia: appresso Gio. Battista, et Marchio Sessa fratelli, 1552 (for 1562).. FIRST EDITION 1562 (printed in error on the colophon as 1552), Italian text, 8vo, approximately 155 x 100 mm, 6 x 4 inches, LACKING TITLE PAGE and three following leaves, now replaced with facsimiles (see attached images), (place, imprint and date from colophon), present are 23 woodcuts (1 small wood cut showing a bookshop, Bibliopola), 1 historiated initial, leaves: 1-119, (1), numbered on rectos only, colophon leaf with Errata at top, misplaced after leaf 111 (should be the last leaf P8), collation: *4 (-*1-4), A-P8, bound in modern speckled blind panelled calf, raised gilt bands, heavily gilt in compartments on spine, new endpapers. Tiny hole (2 mm, 1/8") in the middle of the page runs through entire volume, most expertly repaired, affecting many letters, some worming to lower margins, all neatly repaired, edges of colophon very neatly strengthened, a few light fingermarks to lower margins, 2 small stains to fore-edges just affecting some margins, a very faint small stamp on first page of text. A fair copy with early woodcuts, all prelims replaced with facsimiles as noted, all the main text and illustrations present. Lodovico Dolce (1508-1568) based this Dialogo on 'Congestorium artificiose memorie' by Johann Horst von Romberch which had appeared in Venice in 1533 with these interesting woodcuts. Within the dialogue form used by Dolce he provides an Italian paraphrase of the Latin Congestorium. VG/VG condition unclipped dust jacket, printed price $12.95 Mr. Rogers appears on the back dj panel wearing a pale blue sweater. "In this book, real life photos are used to help young people feel more comfortable with interacting with other children and making new friends. A Note From Fred Rogers: A child's first visit with a pediatrician usually comes soon after birth. It may be months or even years later, though, that a child first shows fear about going to see a doctor. The worry of an injection or some other unfamiliar medical procedure can trigger that fear. It can also appear because another family member may be feeling medical anxieties.
