The first English Language Edition, published prior to the US edition. 12.5 x 19cm, 278pp. Original green cloth with gilt titles to spine and gilt lily vignette to front. Original unclipped dust jacket showing price of 12s 6d. The boards are in very good condition with a very light bump to the each bottom corner of the front board, the fore edge one having it's cloth just rubbed through at the tip. There is very light rubbing to the spine corners. The binding is firm and square. Internally, there is a toned band of acid migration on each pastedown. There is no name, inscription or bookplate and the pages are very clean. The original dust jacket is unclipped showing the correct price of 12s 6d. It is a little creased along the top edge, has small loss at fore edge corners, a very small chip at the top edge of the front panel and one at its bottom edge with associated creasing and loss to both spine ends, but presents very well in its removable protective cover.
