Leipzig: Verlag Von H. A. Ludwig Degener, [1906-7]. Illustrated by 84 loose b&w plates (collated). First edition. Printed green cloth boards restored by KTB of Old Working Books & Bindery with black cloth rear pastedown, head and tail gussets and fore-edge flap, thick coated paper. 4to. pp. 12, [2] Part I & 2 half sheets, [84] plates. Very Good/none/in like binding. Binding is sunned, foxing starting to introductory pages printed in German, English and French. Printed text and plates in separate plastic bags. Winter's original correction copy with his pencil notation and plate corrections with additional drawings pasted to several plates. English corrections were never republished. Still the most comprehensive study of combs and hair embellishments ever made. [We repair and rebind manuscripts and books]..
