Bürgel - was a famous self-taught astronomer, well recognized in this country as one of the early astronomers, and there are facilities named for him... Bruno H. Bürgel (1875-1948), Writer and Astronomer Bruno Hans Bürgel was born at November 14, 1875 nearly nine months after the death of F.W.A. Argelanders in Berlin under illegitimate - poor circumstances - step son of a shoemaker. His interest began - total solar eclipse - astronomy- early morning of the 19th of August 1887 in Berlin hidden by clouds. After school he began to work in a factory & earning money, in free time he read books about astronomy & he bought a small telescopic telescope...--At the turn of the century the founding Publishing Company surrounded itself with a lot of Scholarly Folk's who became writers... & wrote books designed to educate the Common Man & more of the populace reading. ... much like Bennett Cerf did in this country with modern Library ...This continued until the company was nationalized during World War II, and later after the war was returned to its Jewish heirs... reorganized as Verlag des Druckhauses Tempelhof... Hardcover -W - dust jacket, beige cloth boards titling in a pretty blue embossed along with a light black also embossed on the front and on the spine of the book, The Books in relatively good shape there is some wearing at its head, foot, slight Fray, printed on very nice stock- pages are still crisp & clean, a couple of small spots on the edge of the pages, Manila color- dust jacket, is just acceptable it has numerous amounts of small tears cracking, minutiae, just -fair -poor - acceptable.-The little pleasures - A contemplative book of happiness in everyday life- Die kleinen Freuden - Ein besinnliches Buch vom Glück im Alltag - Von -Bruno H.
