Contemporary calf, framed and panelled in blind with blind-tooled corner fleurons, spine with gilt-stamped leather title-label, spine reinforced with slightly later sheep, cut away to display original spine label; edges, joints, and extremities rubbed, back joint starting from top. Institutional bookplate on front pastedown; front free endpaper partially excised. Pp. 306/07, 310/11, 314/15, and 318/19 are omitted in the pagination, but text and register are continuous. Some foxing; pencilled numbering and marks of emphasis throughout, with annotations on rear pastedown and free endpaper.
