The two page 'Advertisement' states "Only 250 copies are printed off". 8vo, copper engraved folding frontispiece, vii, 458pp, 4 folding plates. Three quarter dark brown gilt leather and marbled boards. Boards slightly rubbed. Internally, front marbled end paper detached, chipped at edges, loosely inserted. Deaccessed from the Library of Xavier Union, and Library of Catholic Club, with 2 labels at front paste down and stamp at title page. Folding plates bright and clean. OCLC: 437772789 records 2 copies, King's College and University of Philosophical Research.

Essentially an offprint from the author's larger work (Indian Antiquities, 7 vols., 1793-1800), and issued in a separate edition of 250 copies only, but "revised, newly arranged, and divided into chapters." DNB calls him "one of the first to popularise a knowledge of the history and religions of the east."

This octavo work reprinting the Asiatic Trinities section from the Author's seven volume series, Indian Antiquities. 250 copies published at 14s. Printed for the Author by H.L. Galabin, Ingram-Court, Fenchurch Street, 1800. With the Folding copper engraved frontispiece of Vishnu, Brahma, and Sev. Additionally, 5 other folding copper plates. Bound in a contemporary calf binding, re-backed to style with label, gilt.
The boards a little worn at the edges, but otherwise very sound. A very good copy
