Hollywood: Dr. Clem Davies' Ministry, 1942. First editions. 4 volumes, 12mos, 26, 28, 39, and 28pp. 2 with ads. Illustrated wrappers, staple bound. Generally very good with toning and light wear. Four scarce booklets from Dr. Clem Davies' Timely Topics Series, a twice daily radio broadcast which could be heard throughout Southern California.  Before becoming a supporter and recruiter for the KKK, Clem Davies (1890-1951) earned his fame as a pastor of the Centennial Church in Victoria, BC.  Davies' wild sermons, four of which are printed here, gained him a large following for discussing topics not usually found in church at the time, such as sex and race.   These four examples of Davies' radical evangelism discuss topics such as spiritism, proof of soul, the Antichrist on Earth, War in the East, and Christian Identity doctrine.  An interesting set in studying the historical spread of extremist thought through media and print; a "timely" topic indeed.
