New York: James T. White & Co, 1900. First Edition. Very Good+. First edition. Signed by John G. Neihardt on front free endpaper, warmly inscribed to author and authority on Japanese prints Louis V. Ledoux, dated January 1906. Ledoux's bookplate on paste down.Three author's holograph corrections to text, plus his note on title page, "written in 1898," i.e. when he was only 17. 46 pp. Bound in publisher's yellow buckram, front board lettered in gilt. Very Good+ with darkening to cloth (especially spine), small rub or gnaw spot along top of front board, top edge lightly soiled. Scarce signed.
The very first book by the author of Black Elk Speaks (the famous memoir of an Oglala Lakota medicine man), a narrative poem based on Hindu mysticism. Only ten copies located in OCLC.
