Boston, MA: James R. Osgood and Company, 1871.. 1871.. Good. - Octavo, terra cotta cloth titled in gilt on the spine with a device stamped in gilt on the front cover. All the edges are gilt. The binding is rubbed & lightly soiled & bumped. The spine is lightly chipped at the head & tail. iv, [1] leaf & 313 pages. There is a neat gift inscription on the flyleaf & the page edges are slightly darkened. Good. <p>First edition, large paper issue. BAL 12157 asserts "no evidence" on which to base priorities of small or large paper copies.
