Light tanning to spine and edges. Staining to front panel. Foxing overall.

Garden City: Doubleday, Doran and Company, 1929. SIGNED 1929 Stated First Edition on copyright page. MCMXXIX also printed on title page. VERY GOOD. Signed by Huxley, in black ink, on front free endpaper: "To William Goode / Good Life To You / Aldous Huxley." A clean, otherwise unmarked and firmly bound copy in maroon cloth hardcover with printed title labels on front cover and spine (labels printed with black background, dark yellow titles and pale green ornamentation). Pages near fine, clean and crisp with a very occasional finger mark or light spot, top edge dusty. Cover is clean with light rubbing and spotting. Cover is clean and very good: edges lightly rubbed, corner tips and spine ends worn with bit of board showing. The title label in spine is lightly creased and there is a small round scuff nicking one letter in title and a small corner chip. Binding and hinges firm. There is a split starting after the half-title page but the webbing is intact and strong and rear endpaper is has some tears along hinge but hinge remains is firm and stable. No dust jacket. 5 x 7.5"; 332 pages.. Signed by Author. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo.
