Sofia: S. n, 1919. Softcover. First edition; 4 1/2 x 6; pp. 108; green wraps ruled and printed in black; thin closed cut to tail of spine and a faint age-toning along margins of wraps; small cut to lower corner of front wrap; deckled page edges; very good. Vasil Kolarov (1877 - 1950) was a Bulgarian Communist leader and a major figure in the Comintern. The speech, considered one of his best, was held at an anti-military rally of the Bulgarian Communist Party in June of 1919. For its time, it was brave, controversial, and decidedly anti-Bolshevik. Kolarov spoke of Russia's own hidden agenda, of its alleged anti-Bulgarian activities, and of Bulgaria's own Tsar Ferdinand's shady pro-Russian politics. No other editions of the present fragile tome were published until 1954, when a 3-volume posthumous collection of Kolarov's works was printed, including the speech, but severely censored. Later printings, up to this day, have also contained only the cut version of it. Not in OCLC.
