She was the daughter of surgeon in the Irish army who died young, her mother struggeled to bring her, her sister & brother up but the girls became authors and the brother an artist of some note. Vol 1, 358 pp, vol 2 , 303pp, vol, 3, 303pp. vol 4, 320pp. All in lovely condition with tan leather spine and corners black title & vol label gilt tiltes, ruling & bands, boards a duck egg blue with tiny gold flecks. (Charming book plate in each volume of Margaret Rutledge Nee Bruen she was married to the Rev Francis Ruttledge rector of Kilmaine Co Mayo Ireland ) RARE.. First Edition. Half Calf. Fine. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
