Set during the time of the Crusades and during a time of plague in London, the story follows the adventures of a young nobleman who discovers there is more to life and service than battle when he is crippled by illness. Beautiful green cloth binding with silver sword and shield decoration on front cover and silver lettering on spine, illustrated end papers. Very light bumping of corners and spine ends, light tanning of interior pages, gift inscription on front free end paper. Illustrated dust jacket with black and white lettering is a little faded at edges and spine, light edge wear, corners and spine ends bumped a little, a little spotting on back, 1/2 inch tear at base of front cover near spine.
