Contents clean and tight, new light brown endpapers in keeping with the new binding, two blank leaves to the front and rear, all pages have been professionally cleaned and restored by a paper conservator, minimal and unobtrusive water staining remains to some pages and plates, mostly confined to the margins and blank areas, most plates unaffected, new archival paper guards to all plates, no inscriptions. Arabic text 424 p include many photographic illustrations inside the text. The first part is about the Somalian territories and the British Kenya. The second part is about the Belgic Kongo, the British Tenjaniqa, the Portuguese Angola, Victoria waterfalls, colony of the Cap, the Canary Islands and the Island of Malta. The third part is about Victoria waterfalls, Rodezia (?), Kalahary desert, Territory of the Cap, Madera archipel, Island of Malta and Marmariqa(?). Contemporary binding. This important work is a large expansion of his 1824 publication which was the first serious study of Genghis Khan. Kenneth Meyer Setton, A History of the Crusades notes "among the general histories of the Mongols, d'Ohsson remains unequaled. Avowedly or tacitly most later works rely on it."
