London: Mills & Boon, Limited, 1909. Red cloth-covered boards with black titling to front and gilt titling on spine. Blind-stamped publisher's logo to bottom right-hand corner of front board. Spine ends and corners bumped and spine is faded. Boards are slightly smudged. Paste-downs, endpapers, page edges and half-title page are toned. There are two neat signatures to front endpaper dated 1912 and 1959. The earlier signature has left an impression on the half-title page. Some pink marks to the back paste-down and endpaper. One neat signature to the bottom of page 65. Hinges are cracked and spine is shaken, but otherwise a clean, tight copy. "This is a collection of short stories, some of them of modern fishermen, and others of historical times. They are all pleasant reading..." (from the 1909 September issue of The Spectator.).
