About This Item

(Berkeley): Rasmussen Press, 1974. Greenaway, Kate. 81pp. One of 200 copies, this one being an unnumbered gift edition inscribed "To Doris- In memory of K.G." Illustrated with five sets of verses and drawings compiled by Lucile Rasmussen from those published in the Ladies' Home Journal, which were never published in book form. Though not noted on the colophon or in Bradbury, this copy is beautifully hand-colored throughout. The verses were written by Laura E. Richards, the daughter of Julia Ward Howe, who penned the Battle Hymn of the Republic. Very fine in flowered cloth with a gilt-stamped paper label. (Bradbury, p. 229). (2 7/8 by 2 1/2; 74x64mm).
