Weight: 2 lbs. 2 oz. Honoré de Balzac (1799 - 1850) was a great 19th century French novelist and playwright. His magnum opus is the La Comédie humaine, a series of many novels that present a panorama of post-Napoleonic French life. His widely acclaimed and lively "Droll Stories" were originally published during the 1830's as 30 tales in three sets, which are here gathered in this handsome volume.<br/><br/>Handsome edition and excellent translation. Tight copy with clean pages and plates. This 1" scrape near Methuselah's cheek; <br/><br/>SUPERIOR CONDITION: Tight, bright, clean copy. Dust jacket is remarkably well preserved with traces of soil on its back panel.
