About This Item
London: Jonathan Cape. London, Jonathan Cape, 1965. First Edition. First Impression. Hardback. Douglas Hill's copy. Near fine. Previously published in 1964 as The Burning World, expanded for the Cape edition. First hardback edition. A classic of disaster science fiction, and a direct contrast to the earlier Drowned World. Some wear to the head and tail of spine, a little toning to the spine, some light darkening to the jacket. Slight lean. Front pastedown stamped 'Douglas Hill'. Hill was a writer himself, but also an editor. Ballard's Subliminal Man was included in Window on the Future which Hill edited. A nice association. [6967, Hyraxia Books]. . Near Fine. Hardback. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. 1965.
