Very attractively bound by Paris binder Gruel in gilt panelled red morocco, gilt corner ornaments, raised bands richly gilt in compartments, gilt title, date and name of binder, all edges gilt, elaborate gilt inner dentelles (turn ins), marbled endpapers. Small pale stain to lower cover, corners slightly bumped, tiny closed tear to top inner margin of title page, neatly repaired, neat early signature to lower margin of title page, pale age-browning to signature O. A very good copy of one of the earliest works on duelling, first published in Latin in 1471. Paride dal Pozzo (1410-1493), known as Paris de Puteo, was an Italian jurist. His treatise was first printed in Latin in 1471, then in Italian at Naples by Sixtus Riessinger, not before 1475.
