Near Fine/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. 8vo., 523pp., illustrated with portrait frontispiece and 10 b&w photographic plates and folding map with folding transparency. Rebound in fine half green leather and cloth with gilt spine titles and decoration., top edge gilt. Original gilt embossed insignia from original front board now affixed to front pastedown. New marbled end papers, followed by original color map end papers; The Peninsula in front, and India at rear. Tissue guard at frontis is very lightly foxed. Very small closed tear at margin of Peninsula end paper. A near fine copy, handsomely rebound.
