With several striking illustrations, including a reproduction of a Republican anti-Franco poster from Andalucia. The International Red Aid (also known by its Russian acronym MOPR) was an international social aid organization established by the Communist International. It was founded in 1922 to function as an "international political Red Cross," providing material and moral aid to radical "class war" political prisoners around the world. Other articles that touch on the Spanish Civil War include "Spain and universal peace" by N. Maiorskii, "The Spanish people's heroes" and "Trotsky's agents in Spain" by Mikh. Kol'tsov. The essays also touch on the fate of Russians and other communists in Fascist Germany.
