(8vo) 20x12.7 cm (7¾x5"), original brown cloth pictorially stamped in gilt and black. First Illustrated American Edition. This is the first obtainable American edition; it is preceded by the 1869 Newark edition, of which only one copy is known. Myers 26. Spine darkened, worn with repairs piece of cloth missing lower spine, corners rubbed; hinges repaired at endpapers; former owner's rubberstamps to prelims., overall very good.
