New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1976 First printing of the stated first edition. Publisher's original binding and dust jacket, red top-edge. Light shelf wear to board edge, else book in fine condition; dust jacket with a short, closed tear/crease near bottom front fold, a tiny chip to crown of spine, light wear to spine ends, some toning to flaps and back cover margins, and a diagonal crease to upper corner of front flap.

Synopsis

Eaters of the Dead: The Manuscript of Ibn Fadlan Relating His Experiences with the Northmen in A.D. 922 (later republished as The 13th Warrior to correspond with the film adaption of the novel) is a 1976 novel by Michael Crichton. The story is about a 10th-century Muslim who travels with a group of Vikings to their settlement. Crichton explains in an appendix that the book was based on two sources.
