The author, a subaltern, served in one of the Field Artillery brigades of the British Fifth Army. Campbell had joined the battery, a boy almost fresh from school, the year before, seeing service at Ypres and Passchendaele. As the book begins, he is rejoining the battery at Nurlu, about three miles behind the line, after sick leave." from the jacket flap. Price clipped. Pristine, no wear.
