Philadelphia.: J. Maxwell.. 1822.. Volume is entitled Early Lessons, but the subtitle (No. XVI Egerton Abbey) identifies it as coming from Rosamond, a sequel to Early Lessons. Volume is in paper wraps 5 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches; corners dog-eared; short tear to free edge of front cover; 33 pp. There are three hand-colored plates. The spine has been reinforced with a strip of marble paper glued to spine edge of front and rear covers; however, the volume's three-hole string binding appears to securely hold the slender booklet together. A WorldCat listing for Rosamond, published by Maxwell in 1821, states "Probably the first American ed. Cf. Slade." The present 1822 booklet appears to come from a serial edition of Rosamond published by Maxwell. .
