London: Bickers and Son, 1873. Five octavo volumes bound in full contemporary morocco with gilt. All edges gilt. Volume I has an engraved frontispiece of Spenser. Title pages all handsomely printed in red and black. Brown marbled endpapers. NOTE: One front cover detached, two others nearly so. Spines are worn. Front blank endpaper of Vol. I has inscription dated 1882 and previous owner embossed stamp. This set needs rebacking or a handsome rebinding. Internally clean and very good. [No International shipping]. Full-Leather. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

London: Bell and Daldy, 1862. FIVE VOLUMES uniformly bound. All edges gilt. Spine in six panels with labels in red and green leather. Panels with elaborate floral gilt designs. Covers bordered with two gilt fillets, central panel with a British armorial design. Our research suggests that it is the coat-of-arms of the Merchant Taylors. A signed binding by Westleys and Company. "Concordia parvae res Crescunt". Loosely translated, "With harmony small things flourish". Inner gilt dentelles. Marbled endpapers. Preliminary pages show some foxing, extending to half-title pages. Title-page in black and red.Wide margins, very occasional spot of foxing. A most attractive, finely-bound set of Spenser. Edmund Spenser (1552-1599) was an English poet best know for the "Faerie Queen" an epic poem, present in Volumes 1-2 of this set. See photos. . First Edition. Full Butterscotch Morocco.
