General Electric. Very Good. 1928. Hardcover. Third edition. Blue cover with Silver paper label with a black medallion, the label is scuffed and the cover is spotted. Silver decorated endpages. Modestly worn ends and corner tips. 140 pages. Illustrated in color throughout the text. Penciled "For Service Call Faber 2233 Michigan" on the half title. In 1928 refrigerators were a novelty unrealized potential to the Modern Homemaker of the day. Alice Bradley was the Principle of Miss (Fannie) Farmer's School of Cookery in Boston MA. Included within are general directions for food arrangement, tips for freezing, directions for cleaning ("treat the cabinet as you would any good piece of furniture"), and so much more. The vignettes peppered throughout the text show completed dishes on period dishware. On page 42 is a photo of the refrigerator's contents, neatly arranged. ; 8vo .
