Book has a slight forward lean. Gilt lettering is bright and clear. Top edge of text block is dust marked.

Pages with some foxing and tanning, particularly to endpapers and textblock edges. Cracking to front and rear hinge with netting exposed. Binding loose. A previous owner's name and inscriptions to front free endpaper. A page missing at front. Boards have heavy shelf wear with bumping and fraying to corners and crushing and fraying to spine ends. All surfaces tanned and sunned, particularly spine. Gilt lettering to spine is slightly dulled. Some additional marks and staining to surfaces. Book has slight forward lean.

Lettering and gilt are clear and distinctwith mild external wear and some light fraying at the base of the spine. Base edge soiled, Two pages have some rust spotting, otherwise the text is clean and unmarked. Binding is sound. Fenno is a scarce printing. Normally, Macmillan or Thompson's private printings are seen. Much confusion surrounds the various edition numbers of this title. This is at least the revised version. . Very Good.

(from the preface). 171 figures, and a large section in the rear of questions and answers for the student/teacher.
