FAIR / NO DUST JACKET. 426 pp. Text with extensive notations in pencil at front and back flyleaves, foxing throughout, especially at front and back. Brown cloth boards with stamped decoration at front and back, lettered in gilt at spine. Boards lightly scuffed, corners rubbed and worn to boards, spine top and tail frayed. Joints and hinges good, textblock firm.

Sheldon & Company, 1865. Hardcover. Acceptable. Brown cloth cover embossed with gilt spine shows moderate edgewear, slight fraying at bottom of spine, but overall in good condition; spine straight, binding tight; pages and endpages are only slightly toned, clean and tight, without marks or creases; previous owner's name on front page.

Sheldon & Company. Fair. 1877. Hardcover. Twelfth thousand. Ex-library, with several stamps, remnants of card pocket, and spine number. Binding is solid, despite split starting at front hinge. Pages unmarked but a little tanned at edges. Cloth cover is quite worn at spine tips, and a little worn elsewhere. Spine title still legible. No dustjacket (probably none at issue). .

New York: Sheldon & Company, 1877. Hardcover. Very Good. Twelfth thousand as indicated on full-title, hardcover with orange cloth boards, 1877, octavo, 426pp., not illustrated. Book VG with soil and rubbing to boards, spine ends and corners worn which includes some gentle tearing to cloth, binding tight, text clean and unmarked but toned throughout. No DJ.
