ont> The Crime Club : London, 1972 Book. Very Good. Hardcover. First edition.. A lovely first edition copy of this entertaining and thrilling detective novel by Agatha Christie, part of the 'Poirot' detective series. Hercule Poirot, one of Christie's most famous and long-lived characters, is a fictional Belgian detective who appeared in thirty three novels, fifty short stories, and even a play, published between 1920 and 1975. World-renowned for his iconic moustache, intelligence, and his 'little grey cells', Poirot has entertained readers for years, with copious Poirot novels being adapted for television and film, with the detective played by such notable names as Orson Welles, David Suchet, and John Malkovich. This work is the last Christie novel to feature Poirot and the recurring character Ariadne Oliver, although the work was succeeded by 'Curtain: Poirot's Last Case', which had been written in the early 1940s but published after this work. Within this text Poirot investigates a tragic accident fifteen years before, the discovery of a broken body of a woman found on the rocks at the foot of the cliff, and the subsequent grisly discovery of two more bodies, a husband and wife, shot dead. A fascinating read, this work is notable for its concentration on memory and oral testimony. Complete with original unclipped dustwrapper.   "I HAVE ALMOST ALL OF HER BOOKS IN MY COLLECTIONS AND WILL RE READ THEM OVER A PERIOD OF TIME. IN THIS ONE THE SUBJECT IS ONE I HAVE NEVER ENCOUNTERED AND THE ENDING IS REALLY VERY INTERESTING AS I AM INTERESTED IN THE "WHY" OF SOMETHING OR WHAT A PERSON (S) WILL DO. ALL OF OUR LIVES ARE DIFFERENT, YET WE HAVE A COMMON BOND, MAYBE GOOD, MAYBE BAD, BUT IT IS THERE."
