The plate is a portrait of Elizabeth Madox Roberts by Jay Te Winburn. Back section of dust jacket contains publisher's advertisement. Stated First Edition. Kentucky novelist and poet Elizabeth Madox Roberts (1881-1941) set most of her fiction in Washington County, Ky. During her lifetime she won the John Reed Memorial Prize in 1928 and an O. Henry Award in 1930. Her continued popularity led to the 2012 publication of a previously unpublished novel, Flood. Book is in Fine Condition. Dust jacket is in Very Good+ Condition: edges rubbed; slightly soiled.
