UK,12mo wraps,no dw/dj - as issued,p/back,1st thus.[Green Penguin Crime series,number C2431.A Judge Dee,Chinese detective story, originally published in UK as an 8vo HB+dw/dj,1st edn,by William Heinemann,1963.The author has also drawn the b/w illustrations in Chinese style.A 1st edn thus.] VG+.Bright,crisp,clean,glossy colour photographic illustrated front cover with bright,non-faded red and black lettering; with negligible shelf-wear and creasing to edges and corners - no nicks or tears present - contents bright,tight and clean - no intentional reading creases to any pages' corners.Book has been carefully read with vertical creases to both card covers in vicinity of the spine/backstrip. There is an accidental diagonal crease to bottom corners of pp157 (the last page) and to the following blank in the same spot - both pages' creases within each other - so,not separate, different distinct creases. Small creases to rear corners of rear cover.Top edges tanned/aged - as usual/normal (book's age!) - fore-edges similar but to a much less degree; contents bright,tight and clean.UK,12mo p/back,1st edn thus,9- 157pp [paginated] includes 20 chapters,8 full-page author's b/w line illustrations in Chinese style and a b/w floor plan diagram,interspersed throughout the text and the book,plus [unpaginated] half-title+title pges, Dramatis Personae list/table and 2pp blanks at rear.
