Spring Books, London, No date. Edition Unstated. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Good Condition/Poor. Illustrator: Illustrated. Introduction, comparison of English and American weights and measures, French measures, cooking temperatures, tools of the trade, a few hints, a note on wines and index of recipes. Red coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured titles to the back strip with yellow coloured tint to the top text edge. Colour photographic dustwrapper with white coloured titles to the front panel and yellow coloured titles to the back strip. A book which is listed alphabetically by country, starting with Australia and New Zealand and ending with Yugoslavia, of regional dishes from various countries. Softening and fading of the back strip edges with bumping of the book corners and fading along the extreme book edges. Some marks and rubs to the book panels and there is a small stain to the lower right-hand corner of the front panel. Uniform light tanning of the textblock edges and pages with foxing of the textblock edges. From page 417 through to 433 the top right-hand corner has become dogeared. The dustwrapper is in shocking shape – please see photograph. The front fold over panel is missing. Multiple tears and creasing of the top dustwrapper edge and there is rubbing to the remaining fold over crease. Fading of the front panel with rubs marks and creasing also present. A small piece is missing from the lower right-hand corner of the rear panel and there is a tear to the front edge of the front panel, measuring 4 inches. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
