About This Item
Collins, 1936. 1st Edition. Hardcover. VG. 1st Edition 1st Impression. 14 x 20.4 cm black cloth with green stamped titles to the spine, top edge blue, bottom edge uncut. 357pp (2) with 8 full page woodcut illustrations by the author. Inscribed by the T H White to the front free endpaper in purple ink: 'Sir Thomas Birkett/with the author's /constant gratitude for/ the best fortnight of/ his life.' Now protected in a removable rigid plastic cover (not shown in the images). A very good book with a little pushing to the spine corners and some light scuff mark to the boards. Internally, there is a little uniform toning from acid migration to the free endpapers and some spotting to the bottom uncut edge and the prelims. A very intriguing inscription on this early work that was published before The Sword in the Stone. Rainford & Parris Books welcomes enquiries, so please do not hesitate to ask if you require further images or have any questions. All books are packaged with great care.
