London: Mears & Stainbank. The Whitechapel Bell Foundry, 1994 Presumed First edition. Undated but from contents and style probably 1930s. Paperback: grey card wrappers, stapled, small oblong format. 16pp, with b&w photos and illustrations showing the process of casting, finishing and testing handbells, with some historical illustrations. One photo is printed in reds to show the pouring of the hot metal. The Whitechapel Foundry in London had been making bells of all kinds (including for Big Ben and Liverpool Cathedral) for 400 years. Introduction by A.A. Hughes, head of the foundry. A charming little booklet in Very Good condition, with some light browning to wrappers..
